Professor and Systems Librarian Brian T. Johnstone’s article, “Sirsidynix: How to leverage your ILS to support equipment loans in other campus departments.” was featured in the March 2017 issue of Computers in Libraries (CIL). Computers in Libraries is a highly regarded publication in the field of library information technology. Considered on the cutting edge, CIL focuses on the latest computer technologies and how they can be applied to library systems and services. Professor Johnstone’s article discusses the subject of equipment lending by libraries. It focuses specifically on his innovative solutions using the Bucks County Community College Library’s integrated library system (ILS) to support the Department of the Arts lending of high-tech audio-video equipment to students. Professor Johnstone’s creative ideas and detailed explanations are sure to help systems librarians and countless others faced with the hurdles of loaning and tracking expensive equipment to students. We thank Professor Johnstone for drawing international recognition to Bucks, and we congratulate him for his accomplishment!
