The Paper Prayer Campaign at BCCC is an AIDS awareness project and exhibition that links the visual arts with real lives. Held annually in different parts of the world, this project commemorates World AIDS day, December 1st. The tradition of Paper Prayers is derived from the Japanese practice of offering colorfully decorated strips of paper as a prayer for good health and well-being. They are a compassionate gesture, given anonymously to those who are less fortunate. All exhibited works can be purchased for a minimum donation of $7 and all proceeds benefit the Family Services of Bucks County. Reserve your paper prayer at the library circulation desk and pick up your paper prayer at the reception on Thursday, 12/1, noon until 3pm.
